I should have listened to my wife. She told me to wash my car. But I'd been on the road just about every weekend for three months, covering NFL games, and a carwash didn't register on my list of priorities. So the other day I wheezed up to the Beverly Hills Hotel in my one-headlight Volvo that's covered in dust and bird droppings, and filled with old newspapers, water bottles, my son's basketball, and -- disturbingly -- my daughter's collection of stripped-bare Barbie dolls. .
Kansas vs. Virginia Tech
So you can point to our schedule, but we play in the Big 12. That's a damn good conference." Add in the intrigue of a great Kansas offense facing a great Virginia Tech defense, and this might have makings of a classic. "They're a solid football team and very well-coached and talented," Beamer said. "They've got all the ingredients." Kansas' recipe starts with the nation's highest-scoring offense. Hawaii held that distinction until managing only 10 points against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, so now the Jayhawks - with their 44.3 points-per-game average - are in the top spot, and some of the stats they've put up this year are ridiculous. Consider this, for starters: Kansas has 64 offensive touchdowns this year, against only 46 punts.
'Mario Galaxy' shoots for the stars; 'Assassin's Creed' falls a bit ...
Princess Peach wants to see Mario, only the dastardly Bowser comes along and kidnaps her. This time, however, he uses a UFO to pick up the entire castle. Mario, clinging to the edges, gets taken into space and given the boot. When he awakens, Mario is in the presence of Princess Roselina, the guardian of the gate to the heavens, who wants Mario to recover the stars that Bowser stole to pull off his Peach heist. She grants him some star powers of his own to do it.Personally, I think Mario would be better off with Roselina than Peach; at least she isn't constantly getting kidnapped.Anyway, what follows is a game so full of originality and fantastic level design that players will be hard-pressed to find a platformer that does it better. Each galaxy Mario visits is unique, and each planet within each galaxy is different than the one before it.By planet, I mean semi-large spheres.

So, get out there, support the Mountaineers and share your fun with ...
You don't need me to tell you the last few years have been nothing short of exciting at WVU. I have had the opportunity and privilege to be at every one of the Mountaineers games over the last three seasons home and away. Who can forget the excitement of the amazing comeback against Louisville in 2005 to win in triple overtime? The 2006 game against Rutgers was also exciting. Another triple overtime win, and this one propelled the Mountaineers to another Gator Bowl. But my favorite moment was covering the 2005 team and enjoying the Sugar Bowl followed by the celebration. You could not help but be so happy for those players. We get to know them fairly well during the course of a season. That was a lot of fun. Greg Chandler This will be my fourth season covering WVU Football, and when I look back on my time with the program a few moments come to mind.
Oh That George Bush! He Was For The Troops Before He Was Against Them
They include Libya, Iran and Iraq under Saddam. The administration was unable to explain why it had not acted earlier to object to the provision. Perhaps it's because Harriet Miers is no longer the president's legal counsel. A deeply embarrassed White House promised that it will work quickly with Congress to restore the dozens of military and veterans provisions in the bill, which got overwhelming bipartisan support, once Congress returns to work in January. The new bill would not, of course, include the terrorist-act provision. The provision was put into the bill by Senator Frank Lautenberg, the New Jersey Democrat, without public debate, a not unusual occurrance on Capitol Hill. It would help U.S. plaintiffs in lawsuits against Iran and Libya, including relatives of Americans killed in the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 and in the bombing of a Berlin disco in 1986.
Corey's story: fair game or camera fodder?
Take off your sunglasses and apologise," she demanded. He said he would apologise but he wasn't taking off his sunglasses and this then became the substance of the interview. Is this really what current affairs news has turned into? It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad. McKinnon's dismissive sign-off at the end "I suggest you go home and take a long, hard look at yourself", prompted nothing more than a smart-arse kid retort which has made him legendary among youth worldwide: "I have... everyone has... they love it." Media savvy Love him or hate him, this kid seemed extremely media savvy. His interview with McKinnon was posted on YouTube, his MySpace site had thousands of hits and news organisations and bloggers around the globe were obsessed with the story.
Jeff Thelen's Blog
Hi everybody. I'm back from really slacking off from the blog over the holidays. This week, it's just a few random thoughts. How many people are sick at your home, office or school? Seems like everyone in this newsroom is fighting some sort of bug right now. My symptoms are a sore throat, tiredness and aches and pains. I have no congestion, but my nose only runs at night. Wierd, isn't it? Alison Struve blows her nose so much she sounds like a foghorn. Stephanie Luisier and chief photographer Randy Bise both have that "sick sound" when they talk. Was it just me or did the Badgers seem a little unfocused and unprepared for their bowl game? Perhaps it's the long layoff between their last regular season game and the contest on January 1. It was a sort of a fun game to watch, even if it was rather sloppily played.
